Jean-Luc Tauziede was born in Anglet (Basque Country, France), a seaside resort located between the cities of Bayonne and Biarritz, in 1962.
His father was an aeronautical (ARIANE space) engineer and international expert at manager's office Veritas, and his mother was an celebre organist, concert artist, and professor at the Music College (CNR Bayonne).
When he was younger, he studied the cello and worked as an assistant sound engineer before devoting his life to bow making.
In 1992, Jean-François Raffin invited him to come and work in his Paris workshop to learn the trade. He was his assistant until 1997.
He has been working in his native Basque region since 1997, making and repairing bows using the traditional methods and knowledge taught to him by Jean-François Raffin and Stéphane Thomachot.
His main activity is creating classic bows in the pure 19th-century style for the violin, viola, cello, and double bass.
Jean-Luc Tauziede specializes in copying antique bows.
In 2011, he won the title of "Meilleur Ouvrier de France" (Best Craftsman bowmaker of France) in bow making.
His bows are played around the world by leading professionals and soloists. 

1962年フランス・バスク地方アングレット生まれ。幼少期にチェロを学び、音響技術の仕事を経て弓製作に転身。1992年にJean-François Raffinのパリ工房で修業し、1997年から故郷で19世紀様式の古典弓の製作・修復に専念する。特にアンティーク弓の複製を専門とし、2011年には「Meilleur Ouvrier de France」に選ばれ、彼の作品は世界中の一流奏者に高く評価され愛用されている。
