Propolis, bee resin

Propolis is a resinous mixture collected by bees from tree buds, sap, or other plant sources. It is produced worldwide, but the main sources are Brazil, Uruguay, and the UK and Italy in Europe. The type of propolis varies depending on the type of tree in the region where it is produced, with the European variety (Northern Italy) being the best. European propolis is dark in color and is suitable for violin varnish. Its color ranges from light yellow-brown to dark brown and it acts as a softening agent.
