Gamboge Yellow

Yellow resin extracted from the gamboge tree. It is part of the Garcinia guttiferae family and is native to Southeast Asia. It is a fast dye that does not fade in sunlight. It is completely insoluble in alcohol but completely soluble in ether. It is used as a primer for violins.
