Dammar

This resin is extracted from trees of the Dipterocarpaceae family native to Southeast Asia. It appears in various sizes of lumps, covered with a white powder on the outside, and has a glassy, pale yellow interior that breaks easily into thin flakes when crushed. It is partially soluble in alcohol and ethanol, and completely soluble in essential oils and fatty oils.
