The Wessex Violin Co.
The workshop was founded in Wiltshire, England in 1905.
This workshop carries on the tradition and history of British violin making, established by William Forster, Thomas Kennedy, Benjamin Banks, The Hills, John Lott and others.
During the 19th and early 20th centuries, many violins were imported from France and Germany, and violin making in England declined.
The Wessex Violin is crafted in a traditional chestnut brown oil varnish, reviving the British tradition of violin making.
