Johannes Rubner

This is a long-established workshop that continues to produce double basses in Markneukirchen, a region in central-eastern Germany that is famous for its string instrument production.

It was founded in 1885 by Josef Rubner (1864-1927).

When his son Otto (1885-1963) took over the business, the Rubner Bass brand spread throughout the world, and the company continues to produce high-quality double basses around the world today.
