Nicola Lazzari and Migiwa Ito Lazzari
A string instrument maker born in Yokohama in 1979, she graduated from Kunitachi College of Music and began her career at Sato String Instruments before moving to Italy in 2007. She studied under Giorgio Scolari at the Cremona International Violin Making School and honed her skills in Nicola Lazzari's workshop. She has received numerous awards, including a silver medal at the 2009 Pisogne International Competition, the Best Female Violin Maker Award at the 2015 Violino Arvenzis, the Grand Prize in the Technical Category in 2022, second place at the 2023 Guadagnini International Competition, and a gold medal in the Viola Category at the 2025 Kazanlak International Competition. She is currently a member of both the Japanese and Italian maker associations. Her works, which excel in both acoustics and design, are beloved by performers worldwide.
