




Stefano Conia
Born in Hungary in 1946.
From a young age, he became interested in violin making, influenced by his father, Istvan Konya Senior.
He eventually moved to Cremona, Italy, and in 1968 enrolled in the Cremona International School of Violin Making, where his father had also studied.
He studied under Pietro Sgarabotto, Gio Batta Morassi and Francesco Bissolotti, graduating in 1972.
After graduating, he continued to teach at a craft school for over 20 years, instructing many young people through lectures on varnishing and restoration.
As a maker, he has participated in competitions in various places, including Poznan (Poland), Cremona (Italy), and Tokyo (Japan), and has been active in such competitions as winning a gold medal in Bagnacavallo (Italy).
He is also a member of the Association of Italian Luthiers (ALI).
