Thomas Simpson

Born in Burnley, Lancashire, England in 1864.

He repaired pianos in Walsall until 1898.

He then taught himself and began making musical instruments and bows in Peterborough.

In 1900 he moved to Birmingham and worked mainly as a repairman.

Retired in 1925, the instruments are often inconsistent but carefully crafted.

Died in Brixham in 1933 (aged 69).
