/
Born in Buckinghamshire in 1850.
Although he was a businessman, he was also self-taught in string instrument making and was active from around 1888 to around 1936.
It is mainly modeled after the Stradivarius "Tuscan" made in 1690, and has a flat arch with F-holes close to the edges.
It appears that they used spruce from an old building, and the varnish was a commercially available product.
Records show that he made around 70 instruments during his lifetime.
