Georges Apparut

Apparut / France Mirecourt / 1877-1948 /

Born in 1877 in Juvaincourt, near Mirecourt.
He learned violin making from his father, Léon Apparut (1851-1916).
He worked under Paul Blanchard (1851-1912) in Lyon from 1896-99 and under Georges Mougenot (1843-1937) in Brussels from 1900-1903.
He has won awards at exhibitions in Nancy, Brussels, Metz, Ghent and Paris.
They are made using Stradivarius, Guarneri, and personal models, and are extremely detailed and highly sophisticated.

He died in Mirecourt in 1948 (aged 71).
