Mario Gadda

Born in Mantua in 1931.

He learned violin making from his father, Gaetano Gadda (1900-1956).
He was a prolific maker, working in a variety of models and styles, and specialised in copying works by Tommaso Balestrieri (w. 1725-1749) and Stefano Scarampella (1843-1925) of Mantua.

He died in 2008 (at the age of 77).
