Born in Desio, Milan in 1915.
He learned the basic techniques from Renzo Bechini (1911-1995) while he was held as a prisoner of war by the United States.
He began making instruments in earnest around 1943, and won awards in Pegli and Rome in 1956, Cremona in 1967, and Bagnacavallo in 1976.
It is coated with a reddish varnish and is particularly popular for violas.
He died in Milan in 1990 (age 75).
