Born in Mirecourt in 1844.
He was a pupil of Charles Galliard (fl. 1851-1880) and Jean Baptiste Vuillaume (1798-1875).
After that, he worked in various places (Lille / Douai / Mirecourt / Paris / Brussels / America / Rheims / London)
He also worked under Harry Dykes at Leeds.
He moved to Paris in 1899 and opened his own practice.
This is a classic model of Stradivarius, Guarneri, and is an instrument with a very fine finish.
He died in Paris in 1907 (age 63).
