Jacobs Horil

Horil / Italy Roma / W.1720-1760 /

Jakob Holly was a string instrument maker in what is now Vienna, Austria, from 1720 to around 1740.

As a result, Horil's instruments are made in a way that shows the influence of Steiner and Tyrol.

Around 1740, he moved to Rome and began working there.

During the same period, makers such as Gigli (Giulio Cesare Gigli 1724-1794), Füssen-born Tecchler (David Tecchler 1666-1747), and Vienna-born Tanningard (Giovanni Giorgio Tanningard c.1665-1717) were active in Rome.

He worked in Rome until about 1760.
