Andreas Borelli

Borelli / Parma, Italy / W. 1720-1747 /

Andreas Borelli was a maker active in Parma in the early 18th century.

It is believed that he began making violins on his own. His instruments are rather large, asymmetrical, and roughly finished.

It seems that around 1758 the Borelli family rented their residence to Giovanni Battista Guadagnini (1711-1786), who would become a master painter in Turin.
