Born in Vicenza in 1781.
He learned violin making from his father, Gaetano (Gaetano Santagiuliana b.c.1760-1830), a guitar and violin maker.
*Gaetano is said to have been a pupil of Giorgio Serafin (1726-1755) of Venice.
They are usually made in the Stradivarius model with a flat arch and are varnished with a thin red to orange varnish.
The maple back is made from "oppio" wood, which is harvested locally in Tuscany, and often has a simple grain pattern.
He also made cellos and double basses.
He died in 1853 (age 72).
