Born on 27 April 1960 in Dijon to a father who was a musician with the Republican Guard in Paris, after a grammar school education and study of the piano, violin and trombone at the Conservatory for Music.
After passing the competitive entrance examination, he entered the National School of String Instrument Making in Mirecourt in 1976, in the bow making class under the guidance of Bernard Ouchard, bow maker at Vidoudez in Geneva for 20 years.
After three years of study and obtaining his instrument-making technician's diploma with a bow-making specialty in 1979, he completed a four-year apprenticeship in the workshop of Albert Claudot ("Best Craftsman in France") in Dijon.
He set up his own business in Dijon in 1983, devoting his time to producing new bows, restoring and maintaining old bows and providing expert advice.
He was appointed Judicial Expert by the Dijon Court of Appeal in 2022.

1991: Award of the city of Paris (violin bow)
1996: 3 Certificates for Workmanship (2nd prize) Violin Society of America
1998: Dunhill Award for Art Trades
1999: Regional award for export in the Arts Trades category
2009: Artinov award for craft innovation for his work on bow maintenance.

Born in Dijon in 1960. Influenced by his musician father, he studied piano and violin, and in 1976 entered the bow making department of the Mirecourt School of String Instrument Making. He studied under Bernard Ouchard and obtained his bow making technician qualification in 1979. After graduating, he trained for four years at the Albert Claudot workshop, and opened his own practice in Dijon in 1983. He specializes in bow making and the restoration and maintenance of classical bows, and has earned a reputation for his high level of skill. In 2022, he was appointed a judicial expert witness, and has received numerous awards, including from the American Violin Society and the Prix de la Ville de Paris. He is highly regarded both at home and abroad in the fields of bow making and restoration.
